What is Dharma Punx Seattle?
Dharma Punx is a community to learn: meditation, dealing with the suffering in our lives and more about Buddhist practice. The lineage of this group has direct ties to the Thai Forest Tradition which is known for keeping close to the original teaching. However, Dharma Punx does not ask you to believe in anything. This practice is a “see for yourself” model. Take what works, leave the rest. Above all, this group offers practical skills to deal with pain, suffering and stress while cultivating compassion and an inclusive community.
What can I expect?
The format goes like this:
• First, the facilitator will introduce the topic for the evening.
• A question will be posed for group discussion.
• A 30-minute group guided meditation
• A 30-minute talk given by the facilitator
• Opportunity for Q&A or reflections.
